Symposium ISIS platforms

Introduction The Isis Platform is our newest shelf for anyone who wants to improve the performance of their audio and/or home theater systems at a more affordable cost. The Isis Platform is ideal for use as replacement or ancillary shelving in existing racks, but can also be used as a stand-alone, entry-level platform. Its basic design and theory of operation is of the same family as the time-tested Symposium Ultra and Super Plus platforms. Description Only 1" thick, the Isis Platform features matte black top and bottom aluminum layers which are bonded to additional constrained layers with a center foam section of limited compliance. The four sides of the Isis are sealed with black, textured edgebanding. Its 18.75" by 13.75" size is adequate for most components. Application The Isis Platform maximizes equipment performance by reducing the effects of mechanical energy both inside and outside components weighing up to 50 pounds. Benefits include improved bass without "bloat" or overhang; smoother, more natural midrange and high frequencies; and a more coherent, musical presentation. The Isis Platform improves results whether used with Rollerblocks, Large Couplers, other footer devices, or alone. It is ideal as a replacement shelf or damping platform for "hard" sounding surfaces such as glass, undamped metal, or stone. Use With Rollerblocks or Couplers While beneficial used by itself, the Isis Platform provides synergistic results with Rollerblock Jr. and Large Couplers when used as a system. Rollerblocks, especially Rollerblock Jr., may be used either on top of the Isis or beneath it, for additional isolation with concomitant energy drainage and coupling. When used beneath the Isis Shelf, the combination of Isis and Rollerblock Jr. system makes an effective, unmatched and very affordable isolation system for improving the performance of budget to moderately priced turntables.
